Adam Lambert Fans Raise $30,000 For Charity As He Turns 30

Better Than I Know Myself singer Adam Lambert celebrated turning the big 3-0 yesterday (January 29) and instead of accepting gifts from his fans, he asked them to donate to charity instead.

Adam is aiming to raise $1 million for charity:water and unbelievably, $30,000 of the total has already been donated in just 24 hours.

Lambert – who releases his sophomore album Trespassing in March – Tweeted news of the fund-raiser to his 1.3 million Twitter followers at the weekend, saying: “Today is my birthday, and for my 30th I’d like you all to help me change the world.”

Speaking on the charity:water website, he said: “Last year for my ‘golden birthday’, all of you gave me the best birthday present I could ever ask for by donating $323,803 to bring clean water to over 16,000 people!

“It felt so amazing to have my fans, friends and family do something so inspiring for me for my birthday,” Adam shared. “I’d like to invite you to join me, and “give up” your birthday this year.

“What exactly does that mean? It means that when people ask you what you want for your birthday, you tell them that you’d like clean water, and ask them to donate money, 100% of which will directly fund water projects.

“Wait until you see how amazing it feels, and together, I bet we can raise over a million dollars, which will bring thousands of more people clean water.”

Fans can make a payment now, by heading over to Adam’s donation page.
