The album isn’t released officially until next week, but Justin Timberlake is allowing his fans to hear his new record ‘The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2’ online for free.
The ‘Friends with Benefits’ actor released the first installment of the two-part record, ‘The 20/20 Experience’, in March and enjoyed major commercial success; selling 968,000 copies in the initial week of release.
Justin is hoping to replicate its popularity by releasing part 2 on September 30 via RCA Records, although followers of the ‘Mirrors’ singer can now hear all eleven songs from the CD which are available to stream on iTunes before the project goes on sale.
The new record clocks in at 74 minutes and includes the lead single ‘Take Back The Night’ and next single ‘TKO’. The album also includes a second team-up with Jay-Z entitled ‘Murder’, which was recorded after the success of their previous duet ‘Suit & Tie’, as well as a track featuring rapper Drake (‘Cabaret’).
Speaking ahead of the album release last week, Timberlake explained why ‘The 20/20 Experience’ was split into two separate records, as opposed to just one.
“We’ve never done it like this, we usually take our time and I felt like it would drive the creativity in a different way,” he told fans. “I feel like we had to sprint everyday and it would hyper-focus us.
“It’s funny because when I called you, remember you (asked) ‘Do you want to do a whole album?’ And I said that’s not really my expectation. I just want to go and go and go, and see what we come up with.”
