Coldplay frontman Chris Martin might be one of the biggest rock stars on the planet with millions of fans all over the world, yet not everyone knows who he is.
According to the singer’s wife Gwyneth Paltrow, ‘Gangnam Style’ hit-maker Psy didn’t know that Chris was famous when they met earlier this week at the Met Ball.
Martin went over and introduced himself to the Korean rapper at Monday night’s gala (May 6) – not that he had a clue who the ‘Viva la Vida’ singer was.
“So we’re at the Met Ball, our son is obsessed with him,” recalls Gwyneth. “So Chris sees him and says, ‘Oh m god, there’s Psy.’
“So we went up and Chris was like, ‘Hello, I’m from a band called Coldplay’… But Psy didn’t seem to know who he was.
“We said, ‘We’re sorry to bother you, but can we have a picture for our children. And we sent it to the kids.”
It seems meeting Psy was the only highlight of the evening for Paltrow – who later admitted she hated the event.
“It was so un-fun,” the ‘Iron Man 3’ actress told USA Today. “It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all.”
As for Psy, he’s proving he’s no one-hit wonder, as his latest single ‘Gentleman’ is having massive success since he released it last month.
