This week a leaked advert for Ford Motor Company in India appeared online which featured cartoon images of the Kardashian sisters – Kim, Khloe and Kourtney, but the girls aren’t seeing the funny side.
The image – which was created by JWT India advertising agency – showed three characters who resembled the reality stars tied-up and gagged in the trunk of a yellow Figo, while a caricature of Paris Hilton was seen behind the driver’s wheel.
The picture also included the caption, “Leave your worries behind with the Figo’s extra-large boot”.
Ford may have quickly issued an apology for the image, but the sisters failed to see the amusing side – so are now considering taking legal action against the company.
An attorney for the Kardashian family tells E! News: “(The sisters) do not take this lightly and they are exploring all of their legal options.
“The ‘leave your worries behind’ Ford ads are disgusting, vile and offensive to all women. It is unacceptable that Ford would align itself with an ad agency that would so carelessly release these ads.”
After the image leaked, Ford said in a statement: “We deeply regret this incident and agree with our agency partners that it should have never happened.
“The posters are contrary to the standards of professionalism and decency within Ford and our agency partners.
“Together with our partners, we are reviewing approval and oversight processes to help ensure nothing like this ever happens again.”
