Lady Gaga now has a tank full of new pets after treating herself to more than 20 exotic fish.
The Judas singer is currently resting after having surgery on her hip and is feeling pretty bored at home after being forced to cancel the remainder of her Born This Way Ball tour.
So the eccentric songstress has splashed out on a huge fish tank – which she’s filled with 27 koi carp flown in especially from Japan – to keep her company while she is recovering.
In Japanese culture, koi are seen as symbols of love and friendship.
Explaining what made her bulk buy the fish, a source revealed: “Gaga said she’d had a dream about the fish so she had her team source some koi and set up a massive tank.
“The whole exercise cost over £40,000,” they told British newspaper The Sun this morning, “which is a lot to most people but small change to her.”
Gaga recently thanked fans for their support during her recovery.
She also admitted to feeling devastated when she had to cancel her final Born This Way Ball concerts, but had no chance after the pain in her hip became unbearable.
“I hid it from my staff. I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans,” she said at the time of the injury. “However, after last night’s performance I could not walk and still can’t.
“I hope you can forgive me, as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself. I’m devastated & sad. It will hopefully heal as soon as possible. I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and I’m sorry.”
