Katy Perry is nominated for an Oscar this year and says it would be a “dream” to take home the award.
The star’s song Wide Awake is up for an Academy Award in the ‘Original Song’ category, after it featured in her 2012 concert movie Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D.
Talking with USA Today about being nominated, KP said: “It’s like a dream’s dream.
“When I was growing up and working on music, it was always a dream to win a Grammy, but Oscar was so far out of my dream sphere.
“This would be a nomination of a completely different calibre,” Perry continued. “One that is more impressive than many other ones I’ve had.
“It’s interesting to step out of your playing field and to be recognised from a different angle. It would be an honor.”
The full list of 2013 Oscar nominations has yet to be announced but will be revealed on January 10, with the ceremony being held a month later on February 24.
It’s rumored Katy will face fierce competition from Adele and her James Bond theme Skyfall.
